Music beyond time. To Sergey Rachmaninov's 150-th anniversary.

The purpose of the concerts is to bring the best of vocal masterpieces of the outstanding composer S. Rachmaninov to the audience, as well as to give a short insight into the peculiarities of the creation of the demonstrated works and uneasy life of the Maestro.

In addition to the composer's well-known romances, such as "Vocalise", “Daisies", "Dream” and others, arias from Rachmaninov's operas will be performed (for example: “Aleko”, the diploma thesis for which the composer was awarded with a big gold medal).

Romances and opera masterpieces will be performed by:

mezzo-soprano Zhenya Hovsepyan, an owner of a marvellous velvety timbre, an active participant of annual Savonlinna performances and various Estonian musical projects, experienced in singing leading parts like Snowqueen in opera “Snowqueen" by V.Ignatov, vocal coach, laureate of international competitions;

bass Stanislav Šeljahovski, a singer of RAM (State Academic Men’s Choir), active participant of annual Savonlinna performances and various Estonian musical projects, performer of Count part in Gounod opera “Romeo and Juliette” in 2019, of Sid in Puccini opera “La fanciulla del West” in 2018 in the Estonian state theatre “Estonia”, leading part of Father Frost (Santa Claus) in kid’s opera “Winter Tale” by V.Ignatov, conductor of "Viva Musica” ensemble;

soprano Elena Bebekh, a participant of multiple Estonian musical festivals and projects, a prize-winner of vocal competition named after Georg Ots in 2020, leading part of Snowmaiden in kid’s opera “Winter Tale” by V. Ignatov. 

All three singers perform in vocal Estonian ensemble “Rejoice”. 

Pianist is talented Anna Khachaturyan, a graduate from Erevan State Conservatoire and from Tallinn Music Academy, laureate in state and international competitions.

The world heritage has been enriched melodically and spiritually with  Sergey Rachmaninov's remarkable contribution. 

We are welcoming you to enjoy his works together on this very special year of his 150th anniversary.

The concerts will take place:
June 4 - in the Russian Cultural Centre, Tallinn, small hall (3rd floor)
October 29 - in the hall of the Pärnu Raekoda (City Hall)

Tours are planned in other Estonian cities as well throughout the jubilee year.
